Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) Advocacy
Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) home-based care encompasses the largest number of caregivers in the country and yet in North Carolina, it is often excluded from conversations surrounding public policy and funding.
Advocating for FFN care means meeting people where they are at and honoring families’ right to choose whatever form of childcare that is most accessible and affordable for them and that aligns with their values and culture.
North Carolina FFN Advocacy Resources
SSTC created the North Carolina FFN Advocacy Coalition Website to make FFN Resources available to caregivers and advocates across the state.
Our mission is to establish FFN care as a recognized and legitimate form of child care in North Carolina that is funded and supported on the same level as all other care settings.
Social Media Toolkit
At SSTC, we are on a mission to advance the understanding and validate the importance of FFN child care providers in our community. Home-based child care providers deserve the same quality, connections, and services that licensed and center-based care providers are entitled to.
If you want to participate in the conversation with us as we work to elevate and enable FFN providers towards wider recognition and support please share some of the messages and images in our social media toolkit below.
